The Robot Project in Kindergarten
On June 6th, we had a lovely visit: a group from the Notzingen Kindergarten visited us for a tour!
This week, the little ones had a "robot project" in kindergartenwhich was supervised by one of our software developers. The project covered the basics of robots.
The following topics were explored with the young project members:
- What is a robot and what does it consist of (actuators, sensors, control computer)?
- A robot needs rules (a program) to complete a task.
- We navigate through a course in pairs by defining simple commands (straight, left, right, etc.) and passing them to each other.
- In the next step, a robot mouse will be programmed to navigate a course. This part of the project is being worked on by our head of development Michael Wedel.
- We are building a small robot out of matchboxes.
We are delighted to have been part of this great project!
And who knows: perhaps this will lay the foundation for a technical apprenticeship or degree program for one or two of the young project members and we'll see some of the later on as an employee at mk-messtechnik GmbH!
